Elephant
Elephant
The White Stripes are no longer around. But compared to most of the music I listen
to, this is new music! :) Elephant came around notoriously in 2003 with
hard bluesy tracks reminiscent to the British invasion of the 60s. The bass line of
“Seven Nation Army”, the opening song. is powerful, catchy, and memorable. It leaves
you wanting more by the end of the track. And more you get; “Black Math” has a
killer guitar riff, and a very simple structure with just basic drumming. If you
read the liner notes you will find that the Stripes are very proud of not having
used computers at all for recording, mixing and mastering this album. It was recorded
with a pre 1960s 8 track reel to reel tape.
All of the songs are great, I enjoy listening to “The Hardest Button to Button” and
“Well It’s True That We Love One Another”.
